New cigars are more "alkaline" (stimulating) -- after aging, they gradually move toward "neutral" (smooth).

• Moderate ventilation -- allows cigars to "breathe" and helps prevent mold
• Avoid environments with odors -- cigars absorb surrounding smells (do not place them in the kitchen)
